12/2/2023 0 Comments Youth bible study activityOkay, I need a volunteer to come up here. Do you really think you could beat that? There’s no way. God, the creator of the universe, the creator of you, has a purpose for you. But here’s the deal: What in your life, in your plans, is so amazing that you could possibly think it’s better than God’s purpose for you? S eriously-think about it. We get sad about maybe having to give up our own purpose. We’re crazy sometimes and get this idea in our head that God’s purpose might not be what we want. It can be scary to think about committing to following God’s purpose. ![]() You do have a purpose, and it’s His purpose. And I don’t think there’s any way that you don’t have a purpose. So let me ask you this-if God was going to save you and call you because of His purpose and grace, and He gave you that grace before the beginning of time, don’t you think it’s safe to say He’s always had a plan and a purpose? If He’s going to go through all the trouble of giving you grace way before you’re even around, and then calling and saving you-I don’t think there’s any way you’re an accident. That’s so crazy that’s it’s hard to wrap your mind around! Not before the beginning of your life, but the beginning of time. ![]() It says that the grace of Jesus was given to us before the beginning of time. Because of God’s purpose, not because of ours. This verse says that we’ve been saved and called to a holy life because of Jesus, not because of us. God’s purpose for you is not about you it’s about Him. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” Don’t you think He knows what He made you for? 2 Timothy 1:9 – “He has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. If you want to know what the purpose of something is, don’t you think it would be a good idea to ask the creator of that something? God knit you together at the very beginning of your life, before you even knew you existed. Not on accident, not on a whim, but with a purpose. Instead, you have to have a plan of what you’re going to knit, and then you have to focus on what exactly you’re knitting. It’s not possible to accidentally knit something. Have you ever seen anyone knit before? It’s a very intricate process, one that takes a lot of time and focus. Why do you think that is? Well, here’s a question for you: If you didn’t create yourself, how can you possible know what you were created for? Read Psalm 139:13 – “For you created my inmost being you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Those questions that seem so big and important? You can’t answer them. Well, I’m going to go ahead and clear a lot up for you about these questions, which will hopefully save you a lot of time and frustration. Those are questions that can make you feel really small and scared, and questions that can drive you absolutely crazy until you answer them. Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life was? Have you ever wondered why exactly you were put on this earth, and what exactly you’re supposed to do with the time you have here? Those are really big questions, right? The first team to make their bowl of ice completely vanish wins! ![]() But the game isn’t finished until there is no trace of ice left, only water. They can do anything they want to melt the ice-they can blow on it, rub it in their hands, use the towel, or even crush it with their feet. Players must take turns doing this-they each get thirty seconds with the bowl of ice before they have to pass it to the next player. The point of the game is to make the ice completely vanish. How to Play: Split the group into two teams and give them each a bowl of ice and a towel. He’s not going to force you to live according to His purpose. The purpose for your life is not about you it is about Him. Bible: 2 Timothy 1:9 Psalm 139:13 Philippians 2:13 Psalm 33:11ĭescription: God created you with a plan and a purpose in mind.
